1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th-Year: Domestic Programs
6 or 8 Weeks in Pittsburgh
Russian at the beginning, intermediate, advanced, 4th, and 5th-year (professional) levels taught at the SLI provides the equivalent of one academic year's worth of study. Russian at SLI is typically offered in an in-person format only, but online synchronous sections may be offered based on high demand from prospective participants.
In 2026, SLI's Russian program at Intemediate (2nd-year) level and higher (up to 5th-year Russian) will take place over a 6-week session. Beginning Russian will take place over an 8-week session.
Russian classes will meet Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 2:50 pm ET for 5 academic hours per day with a break for lunch. In addition to intensive language classes, students also attend Russian films, lectures on politics and culture, and activities featuring cultural topics such as art, music, movement, and cuisine.
