1st and 2nd-Year Arabic
8 Weeks in Pittsburgh
Arabic at the beginning and intermediate levels taught at the SLI provide the equivalent of one academic year's worth of study.
Classes meet on the University of Pittsburgh campus, Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m ET for five academic hours per day with a break for lunch. In addition to intensive language classes, students also attend Arabic films, lectures on politics and culture, and activities featuring the cultures of the Arabic-speaking world on topics such as art, music, movement, and cuisine.
Students will learn Modern Standard Arabic and a dialect of their choice (Levantine or Egyptian).
